The source is available in the following repository. ![]() This post describes how I use Xin's add-on to generate normal map or displacement map textures, and then assign them to a character. However, Xin has developed an add-on for importing dhdm files, which is colloquially know as Xin's Add-on. The information in a dhdm file is encoded in an undocumented binary format and can not be read by the DAZ Importer. Many morphs also have high-definition (HD) information, which is stored in a dhdm (DAZ High Definition Morph, perhaps) file. Sadly, it seems like an inappropriate method to render them, and the results are usually lackluster at best, and sometimes acceptable, but it's still very difficult to get photorealism, which is what I am after. The morphs that you can import with DAZ Importer are only half the story. Also I found out that my older approach to texture nodes, using a 3-Layer SSS shader, isn't really good for Daz figures. I have yet to render a G8.1F figure in Blender, though. Now with G8.1F, there should be even better details. There's more detail preserved in the skin, too. This is really the best way to do things, at least if you have the hardware to deal with the higher res mesh. I've noticed that if you export to HD, then all of the geografts on the figure are merged into the mesh. I use it cross-platform: I run Daz Studio under VMWare Player, on Linux, export the file to a shared folder, for both host & guest OS's, and then load it up on Linux, in Blender. It works pretty well to export geografts, including Golden Palace and Breastacular (or both together, even), to Blender. Thank you!!ĭiffeormorphic pluggin is the salvation!! This is amazing, now I can work with my favourite program because daz3d is too limited in every way. I did a clean reinstall and It seems now it works fine with golden palace included in blender. ![]()
